Dedications

Personal child dedication services are held on Sundays. There is a one-time parent/child dedication class for parents interested in dedicating their child/children. Contact KidFormations at
480-894-2201 ext. 257 for additional information and scheduling.

Grace Community Church believes the dedication of children is in keeping with the Scriptural examples in the Old Testament (I Samuel 1: 27-28) with the record of Hannah bringing Samuel to the Lord’s house and in the New Testament where mothers brought their children to Jesus to bless them. Jesus, as an infant, was brought by His parents to Jerusalem to present Him the Lord in Luke 2. The dedication service is an act of commitment of the parents to bring up their children in the nurture and instruction of the Lord. It is not a baptism. We believe that when a child is old enough to make a profession of faith, baptism follows and is a picture of the believer’s relationship with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.
