Three Count System
A “three-count” system is used in AWANA. Any clubber who misbehaves will be kindly and discretely asked by a leader to correct his or her behavior.
- If the clubber is non-cooperative, the child will be given a “one” count warning.
- If the warning is not heeded, a “two” count will be given by the leader and the clubber will be removed from the club to talk with the director. The clubber will be returned to his or her group and given another chance to behave in an appropriate manner.
- If the clubber continues to be disruptive, a “three” count will be given and the clubber will be removed from the club to talk with the Commander. Should it be necessary, the clubber’s parents will be called for consultation. The following week the clubber will be welcomed back and given a fresh opportunity to participate by meeting the club standards of conduct.
Our goal is to make AWANA an exciting, positive and fun experience for each clubber. Discipline will be handled sensitively, fairly and kindly, with clear expectations given to the child from the onset.
